Dustin Slightham
Founder, Strategic Advisor
Dustin Slightham founded 434 Marketing in 2011 and brings 16 years of experience in corporate finance, operations, market research, and data analysis to the team.
Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, Dustin was formerly the youngest Strategic Business Unit Manager at Xerox (ACS), where he led a team of 200 employees and 15 direct reports, and ramped up an offshore operation in Kochi, India. During his tenure at ACS/Xerox, he was responsible for steering three Six Sigma projects, saving the company $3 million annually through improved operational efficiencies, and led the company’s Money Losing Unit into profitability.
Dustin was named among Lynchburg Business Magazine’s “Top 20 Under 40 Professionals” in 2015, The Virginia Region 2000 Technology Council’s “Entrepreneur of the Year” in 2014, and was accepted into the competitive Xerox President’s Club due to high performance at the end of his tenure at Xerox.
Between leaving corporate leadership and establishing 434, Dustin founded a software company that integrated state-of-the-art geofencing technology with in-app push notifications to market and drive foot traffic to retail businesses. After amassing an active user base with a quarter-million monthly interactions, the project was retired due to a lack of funding.
Dustin holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance and has completed numerous professional certifications, including his Green Belt Six Sigma Certification, Digital Marketing Analysis Certificate from the MIT Sloan School of Management, and Certificate of Entrepreneurship through Goldman Sachs competitive 10KSB program at Babson College. He served on the board of the Academy of the Arts for three years during the final philanthropic push to raise awareness and funding for the Academy’s redeveloped facilities.
He is a devoted husband and father of three and enjoys mountain biking and woodworking in his spare time.
